Hello! I am not positive this is the right (or best) place for this, but I wanted to extend an invitation.

I am looking for others who, like me, are dying to role-play their characters in a kind of physical space. While I am participating in a LARP currently, it's not done in an actual environment that a MMO can offer. Plus there's nothing quite like being able to design a character down to the very last detail and see them move at preternatural speeds. Anyway, I found a place that has a vast amount of potential and am looking to find others to join me.

Champions Online is a superhero MMO that takes place in an alternate version of our own world. Its main zone is a very elaborate city featuring a nightclub. slums, and a theater as well as offering instanced lairs such as apartments. And, it's free to play. While I realize Champions has its own lore and style, I have seen the potential it has and would very much like to take advantage of it. It by far has one of the best character creators I have seen in a game. I would be looking for others to join an inclusive RP focused guild that is Camarilla structured. Besides the locations the game allows for most powers: stealth for obsfucate, options that resemble potence and celerity, even shadow abilities for those of us more Lasombra inclined (Sabbat and Anarch groups can be a subset or even an offshoot guild).

    What my goals are:
    1) To allow for MMO VtM role-play with likeminded people
    2) To possibly establish guilds, friendships, stories, etc. with others before the WoD MMO is released.
3)To possibly experiment with having a VtM structure in an existing MMO. How to incorporate the Storytelling system, perform actions, etc. This may be useful information we can relay to the developers.
    4) To have fun and get a taste for what a WoD MMO can offer.

This is not being done to be a leveling guild, though it'd be fine if pockets of that develop. Its whole purpose is to grant an immersive role-play experience.
Thank you for your time and I hope to hear from folks!

Is there anything in this game supporting the social aspect of V:tM?

Besides offering the community of a guild (or guilds), there are several factors that are making this game a role-play haven in general but which I feel will apply beautifully to VtM.

The thing that truly won me over, that made me even want to attempt this in the first place, are the instanced environments and the city. There is a full sized nightclub that contains not only a giant dance floor and bars but an incredibly sophisticated lounge area that's a Ventrue's dream. The theater, another instanced area, is so elaborate it contains a front and backstage as well giving players the ability to change the backdrop settings. More locations include a sprawling sewer, a biker bar, and a news station. Player "hideouts" are also available and there will be at least one provided to the guild by myself. These are invite only instanced areas that can be anything from a luxury penthouse apartment to a Tremere-esque library study.
The open city itself can also facilitate role-play as it has everything from slums, parks and wealthy areas to shops.

So, for me, simply seeing this environment makes me want to role-play and I know it inspired the same for several other White Wolf players who I showed it to.

Other social elements I plan on supporting through applying some of the Mind's Eye Theatre rules to the game. If there are enough people, character sheets would be expected and an online version sent to one of the guild Storyteller's would allow for monitored interactions of active social abilities. While the guild officers will probably remain stagnant and begin with appropriate roles (guildmaster as Prince and so forth) their social positions are in no way stagnant. Primogens can be voted upon, other positions usurped or won over thus allowing for flexibility and giving the players goals.

Lastly, I believe that due to its Free to Play model, the sheer size of a community has the potential to become very large which will fuel the social workings in a Vampire society.

(Please let me know if I answered your question, if not I'll be happy to explain more)

You answered my question partly, but thanks for your long and indepth answer.
I was more thinking about the other disciplines, like Presence and Dominate. And, now that I think of it, Auspex to counter obfuscate.

But the environment as you described it seems to be fitting. I will google it, look it up and then give you feedback.

I also played CO for some time. I'm well too busy in TOR atm to really do that, and so I plan to stick to RPing on forums for now - but it's not a bad idea.

I am so in on this. I was literally just thinking about posting how cool it would be to roleplay online via forum or chatroom or something similar. I never thought of doing it via a different game!

I currently play Champs, and until recently had a character who was a Tremere.

@sylvanmuldoon if you want to chat.

This game is so open for WoD RP.
