More Staff Moves To The MMO

4 Merits Merit Flaw

This tidbit thanks to our V20 European friends who spotted it on Facebook;

Martin Ericsson --known as the Tzimisce stereotype on the V20 book-- will be moving from Europe to Atlanta later this month to join Eddy Webb, Teemu Vilen and Bill Bridges to work as a Senior Storyteller on the video game!

Very interesting to say the least. So this leads me to believe one of two things either it is simply writing vending machine quests (and if that's the case you could have hired 100's of amateur writers that lived much closer) to come up with generic quest text. Or with that many writers, they are putting some serious effort into NPC dialog and metaplot story lines. As I find it hard to understand why they need THAT many quality writers if it was simple generic 'bring me x sabbat heads' type of quests. Does bode well overall in my opinion.

Thoughts?

    seeing thigs moving eve if it's just a bit makes me happy, i already know dust 514 will fail, all I can do is wish it won't hurt the WOD development.

    I'd like to see some cities in the game for those who like "Generic" MMO's... clone cities ... anything - where players take on the guise of normal vampires amongst a city owned (and kept) by NPC's ... whilst still having the same city under player control. This would grant players masses of PvE content, whilst still having the very much desired player-only-content - the writing required would need many DECENT writers, not the usual kill X gather Y types.

    "why they need THAT many quality writers if it was simple generic 'bring me x sabbat heads' type of quests". Do you think WoD will be that bad? Another MMO among the others on internet? Remember they said the cooldown will be based on a plot, PVE will be used to bring others to the sandbox,, so they'll need to give an amazing introduction to the VTM lore, for those who don't know it yet and at the same time, make it interesting for those who already know the game, WoD without an interesting storytelling is not WoD. Now, I know many people is restless about WoD and they're hating the world, "why Dust 514? Will they make Dust 1028? I want to play WoD right now, even it's awfully developed, I need food", etc. CCP is finally concluding its tasks with Dust, that's why we're seeing more movement related to WoD and the final question is: People want a great game or just want to play a game with the title WoD on it? Anyway, if they want to use the best people to make the game, why complain?

      I don't think the MMO will be loaded with 'bring me x of y items' quests. If they are anywhere near what that have implied or stated thus far the MMO will be quite different then that. My point was with that many quality writers there has to be a reason. And if it was for 'get x sabbat heads' they could have made due with pretty much any level of writers. So that leads me to go with they are putting serious effort into some kind of metaplot and NPC/RP dialog. In the end I was being sarcastic with the suggestion of fed-ex quests. :)
