Greeting all. I would like to get
Cute Chat for our site. It is a full featured chat app that plugs in directly to the site. Since it is hosted locally on the web server there is no need to log in separately unlike the current 3rd party service chatango. Your site login will also log you into the chat room. However the price for the license is $299. This is something I currently can not afford, winter is the dead season for myself income wise so I am scraping by until spring. So I'd like to get a drive fund going.
I have over 1,200 registered members here, even if only 5% donated $10 we'd be double our goal (enough for not only the new chat app but the new wiki module I want as well). So for those that can help out it is greatly appreciated, and those donate $10+ over the next 4 weeks will get a special medal on the forum.
You can donate by clicking on the donate button on the main page, thank you!

Donated. I hope the chat is a good one, since chatango actually has quite a lot of features, and seems to maintain logged-in status forever, unlike the wodnews site. (Site has the "remember my login" option but it doesn't work)

If you follow the link to the page for the app you will see all the features and a demo of it. Just the fact it's not a separate login is a big plus. But it does have a lot more features aside from that then the current. For security the main site does log people out eventually.

Its actually less of a plus since I only need to log into the forum when I want to post to the forums, but not to t he chat. Currently I log to the forums like 12 times a day which I don't need to do if I want to chat. The chat keeps me logged in allways. Maybe you could make the user decide in some kind of settings when the session would expire? Since I would like it to be something like 24 hours..

Giving me a reason to donate, and a reward for doing so? How can I say no! Take my money Harl and I hope you get that chat system and wiki upgrade you want.

Have you thought of doing a Kickstarter page?

Did cross my mind, the issue is people who don't use this page or know of it why would they donate on a mass appeal level? Made more sense to me to just do a local drive.

there, donation sent...let me know if you fall short also, does the chat program you are looking at have a dice roller? that would make it perfect, imo...makes "live" RP possible right on the site (which can then be logged/transcribed to the forums) just a Thought

hhmm good question, I am not sure if scripts can be added to the chat unlike IRC. May be a security issue, but I'll look into it.

Sounds good. I never bothered with Chatango, mostly because I couldn't be bothered setting up a login.
