"Character names over the avatars head by default turned off, but can turn them on."
Just to be clear: I can turn on my name for others to see , or will I see everyone else's name?
Would bum me out if it was the latter

Don't make it so difficult. Even in WoW you can turn every type of living creature nametag on or off. (groups)
Player - show playernames guildtags NPC - shows npc names.... Minions OWN Char Pets (non combat) etc. I guess it will be similiar...no big deal, almost every MMO grants that adjusting options.

I really hope you can disable the name plate on your own character: that would mean your character is hiding the fact of being a vampire, while if you let it to be shown it means your character is not hiding to other Kindreds his identity. So if you want to be recognized you can show your plate to others, if you don't want (or you want to make it more difficult) you can hide it. This would be simple and probably giving everyone what they want =)
Oh, and obviously if for some reason you don't want to see others' nameplates you can disable them as in every mmorpg like Grim said =)

Agreed Beren.
What you descibed is what I ment to ask in my above post , but I guess I was alittle more tired than I thought.
Let's hope something like this is in game.

"NO day/night cycle, only night." "ONLY kindred on release of game, no were's, mages, etc. However those other supernaturals may be used in a NPC fashion or/and their lore appear in game."
I take it that means it's not a WoD mmo, but a V:tM mmo. Guess i can stop waiting to play a garou now.

Wow nice nice..
I do think still that they should have day/night cycle.. just following the real world. That would give the game a depth and feeling.
I think also that it's great that you must have network and such to climb to become the ruler of a city. just like real, the more ppl supporting the easier you have the top. That you can fall easy if your supports turns their back against you.
I wonder still why they chose to do VtM not nWoD. I mean if they going to ditch the heavy metaplot that the whole VtM has as a foundation.. kind of takes the whole VtM away. I would rather then have seen VtR (rest of the nWoD) where there is no real metaplot, and the ST/developer can put in different "adventures" so to say.
@Wolfways: I think it will come, as it says "on release of the game, no ..." Sounds like when the players have populate the world, when things running smooth. new options will sure to come, like Mage etc..
If it had been nWoD, now how great that would be.. coming out from the Hedge and snatch people into Faerie, or making strange deals and contracts.. nom nom.. got to love the Fae ;)

I don't see it happening. Just making the V:TM part has taken long enough. With W:TA you're talking about chars with 5 forms, gifts, and rites. And you can't add W:TA without the umbra...at least the penumbra. Hell, each realm would be an expansion size itself. Then of course there's spirits, banes, the Triat...
Actually, making just a W:TA mmo would be a huge undertaking!
But imo removing daytime takes alot away from the "others". I can understand why it was done, but it shows what a stupid creature vampires are. But i've never seen the attraction of leeches so i may be biased :P

I have been a long time fan of V:TM the video games, but new to the PnP WoD. I was excited to hear about a V:TM MMO but am reluctant to see little mentioning of any actual game play, via Dungeons and/or Quests/Missions except, "Dynamic NPC missions/World events". Something I have been waiting to see since the Jumpgate Evolution hype, and personally I can't wait to see your use of Dynamics in conjunction with Metaplots.
The use of Metaplots has been heavily discussed within the V:TM video game community and could/would be very beneficial to the MMO. While having a general place of congregation for players to meet in game. Developing metaplots via Building Interiors, Missions, Dungeons, and NPC interaction. Leaving the city/s 'seemingly' untouched other then the people that occupy them, with real in game consequences.
I can understand the importance of "human interaction" and the emphasis on it for V:TM, but don't want to see the series steer away from any actual game play and become "Second Life" itself. As is, it sounds like a social networking tool rather then a game, such as Facebook or Myspace. Being new to the WoD, I fail to see how this 'Prince' level status works along side the game. Maybe someone could elaborate on this for me?
On a side note: I would like to see the use of the/a Taxi Man and Taxi as a means of transportation. :-)

They should better be working on making a new Bloodlines game, instead of throwing us smoke and no code, no screens, no pre-plays, no images. Just.. slide shows and people dancing.
Not going to happen.
Current big things are NOT MMOs (apart from FPS, but the WoD isn't about FPS !)... Deus Ex, Mass Effect, Fallout, Skyrim...

aubette, blizzard has more monthly sales for WoW subs than those games sell in a month, combine, and WoW is cheaper. Not to mention, SW:ToR (which is MMO, no matter what CCP Chris says.)
